A horsetail stem climbs the frame in even segments, every joint banded dark, every whorl of needle branches set at one exact angle. Karl Blossfeldt published it as plate 119 of Art Forms in Nature. The photograph reads almost as an engineering drawing: fluted internodes, collars of fine bristles, a slow taper toward the tip. Photogravure grain softens the silver-grey tones while the geometry stays hard, and raking light throws a thin shadow from every ridge, giving one common weed the gravity of a classical column. Suited to a study, a drafting corner, or a reading nook, any room where clean lines matter more than ornament.
