Aréna Út

Streetlamps line a broad Budapest boulevard in Aréna Út, where Scheiber Hugó turns an ordinary thoroughfare into a study of geometry and dusk. The title names a real road, and the picture follows it. Blocks of ochre and dusty rose stack along the curb, their windows set in strict grids while the pavement tilts forward in skewed perspective. Angular planes of muted grey and brick red shadow the facades, and the brushwork stays flat and deliberate, closer to constructivist design than to plein-air Impressionism. Every shape locks against its neighbor like cut paper. Hung here, the scene suits a hallway or a home office where sharp lines and quiet color hold the eye between errands.
