Ararat

Ararat rises above the Araratian plain, its twin summits drawn with the steady hand of Arshak Fetvadjian, the Armenian artist who devoted his career to recording the face of his homeland. Snow sits on Greater Ararat in thick white passages while Lesser Ararat shoulders in below, lower and darker. Faint contour lines trace the lava slopes, and the foreground breaks into low scrub, stone, and the pale wash of steppe grass under a wide sky. A study, a hallway, or a room with a desk facing east would suit it well.
