An Abandoned Farm

A sagging barn leans at the edge of a fallow field, its roofline buckled against a heavy sky. Ernest Lawson titled it An Abandoned Farm, and the neglect shows in every brushstroke. Thick impasto in sludgy greens and rusted ochres builds the farmhouse walls, while cobalt and slate gray drag across the overcast. A dirt track cuts through scrub, pale against churned earth. Bare branches scatter like charcoal marks along the fence line, and the paint itself sits in ridges you can almost feel, laid on with a palette knife. Best suited to a study or reading room where quiet, melancholy landscapes earn a long look.

Frequently asked

Yes. It ships fully framed and assembled, with the hanging hardware already fitted to the back.

Wipe the front gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of direct sunlight.

Pick the size that suits your wall and furniture. If you are unsure between two, the larger one usually looks better than expected.

Each piece is made to order and shipped free with tracking, usually within a couple of weeks depending on your location. See our shipping policy for details.

Usually not, but international orders can occasionally be subject to local import fees set by your country. Anything like that is set by customs, not by us.

As each piece is made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email support@auvrique.com within 7 days and we will put it right. See our refund policy.
