All Ridge

Ridges run shoulder to shoulder across the whole width of the sheet, receding ridge behind ridge in pale atmospheric bands. All ridge is Roerich at his most architectural, mountain form treated as pure structure. Cool cobalt and slate washes build the nearest slopes, each crest drawn with a firm brushline that catches the light on its upper edge. Farther ranges thin to milky lavender and bone white, the snow line dissolving into untouched paper. Nothing decorates the scene: no trees, no figures, only the massed geometry of peaks under a high, empty sky. A study, stairwell, or quiet hallway earns from this the calm of altitude, a horizon that keeps pulling the eye upward.
