Sawn planks rest on trestles at the edge of a clearing, pale wood bright against deep summer green. In Abramtsevo. Landscape with carpentry, Pyotr Konchalovsky caught the estate between leisure and labor. Loaded brushwork builds it all: mossy greens over raw umber, ochre trunks rising behind the woodpile, a workman bent over the sawbench. Sawdust scatters pale across the trodden grass, and sunlight breaks through the high canopy in thick, quick strokes of oil paint. Best placed in a study or home office, near bookshelves and worn timber furniture, where the earthy greens settle a working day.
