Sunlight burns through a wall of birch trunks, the last of it pooling orange between the trees. Захід Сонця В Лісі, by Ukrainian painter Trush Ivan Ivanovych, takes that narrow daily moment and holds it still. The forest floor glows in amber and apricot where the light falls, while trunks and upper branches stay cool in grey-green shadow. Brushwork is quick and loaded, wet-on-wet, so the edges of the sunlit patches blur into the dark wood behind them. It belongs in a dim reading nook or a study, where the painted glow reads brightest against a darker wall.
