Голубая Весна

Melting snow pools in blue hollows between birch trunks as Голубая Весна opens the forest floor to spring. Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya paints the thaw from ground level, where water and wood share one cold palette. Slushy lavender shadows stretch across the wet ground, each trunk pale as skimmed milk against them. Puddles hold slivers of sky, their surfaces broken by soft brushwork that lets the blue bleed into brown earth. Last year's leaves cling in russet drifts along the waterline, and thin branches overhead carry the first haze of new growth. The whole scene breathes that raw, cold air of early March mornings. A study corner or quiet bedroom nook suits its hush.
