Wood and Fields Near St Cyr Vadreuil

A belt of dark woodland closes over open farmland at St Cyr du Vaudreuil, and Gustave Loiseau records the meeting line between the two. Trees mass along the upper edge while pale fields run forward, broken by hedgerows and low farm tracks. Loiseau painted in oil with the broken, crosshatched stroke he absorbed from Pissarro, laying short directional touches side by side so the fields shimmer between olive, ochre, and cool grey green. The treeline stays deep umber and violet, its shadowed mass pressing down on sunlit ground. No figures, no buildings, only weather moving across working land. Set it in a study or dining room where its quiet rural palette settles a wall without going somber.
