A low farmhouse with a sagging thatch roof settles into its own yard in Small Farm at Vaudreuil, Gustave Loiseau painting the ordinary Normandy countryside with unhurried devotion. Short broken strokes of ochre, moss green, and slate build the plastered walls, the fenced garden rows, and a high drifting sky.
