Saint Cyr du Vaudreuil

The bell tower of Saint Cyr du Vaudreuil rises above rooftops in Gustave Loiseau painting of the village. Grey slate and pale plaster settle into the green folds of Norman countryside. Loiseau builds the scene in short, deliberate strokes. Touch of violet shadows the lane, cream walls catch soft daylight, and the tower stone reads in cool grey against a sky of loose, pale blue.
