The river bends and the light bends with it. Port Pinche at the Turn of the Seine catches Gustave Loiseau at his most attentive, small boats riding a slow current under a moving sky. Masts tick against a pale sky while hulls sit low in grey blue water. Short, comma-shaped strokes build the surface, and the reflections break into loose vertical dabs. Red roofs and poplars hold the far bank, the brushwork staying broken and plein air fresh.
