A single house anchors the scene, its tiled roof and pale walls set among fields and hedgerows in this countryside view by Gustave Loiseau. The garden front carries small windows, a chimney, and shrubs painted in short, loaded strokes of green and viridian. Loiseau builds the sky from crosshatched flecks of blue and cream, a lattice of touch that lets light flicker across the whole surface. Grass in the foreground runs from yellow ochre into cool shadow, and a path or gate leads the eye toward the doorway. It suits a kitchen, a stair landing, or any room that faces open land.
