House at Beynac

A tall stone house climbs the hillside at Beynac, its shuttered windows set deep in honeyed masonry. Gustave Loiseau builds the village upward, roof above roof, until the fortress ruins crest the ridge far overhead. Dappled brushwork breaks the sunlight across pale walls and terracotta tiles, and the Dordogne valley opens below in cool green haze. A study, hallway, or stairwell gains warmth and height from this view of Perigord.
