A Sunlit Meadow

Grass runs gold toward a treeline in A Sunlit Meadow, an Arnold Marc Gorter landscape where light lies flat across every blade. Gorter paints the Dutch pasture as he knew it on foot: low horizon, wide sky, cattle or sheep reduced to soft shapes at the field edge. Short strokes of olive and chrome yellow build the sunward slope while blue-gray shadow cools the hollows between. Dappled shade under scattered oaks gives the eye somewhere to rest after all that brightness. A room with pale linen, whitewashed walls, or raw wood suits its calm country air.
